How do I reserve a service?

MoveChamp needs to know where to pick up your items and where to drop them off. Use the filters on the Home page to select your To and From addresses, Date and Time. We also need to know what sort of vehicle you desire and if anything may make the move particularly challenging.

Finding and reserving a service is super simple. Follow the quick steps below and you'll have a move scheduled in no time:

  1. Head over to our home page.
  2. If you can't see the filters at this point, click the three horizontal stripes on the left hand side under the MoveChamp logo.
  3. Enter your pick up address. Our filters are powered by Google so you will notice a familiar pop up auto-complete feature as you type. Click the appropriate address when it is suggested.
  4. Enter your destination address in the same manner.
  5. We'll need the date of the move. It is important to note that some MoveChamp partners require a few days notice. Requesting a move too few days in advance will result in fewer service results being displayed.
  6. We'll need the time of the move. Ensure this fits your schedule on the day chosen. Be sure to avoid predictable time periods where there might be more traffic on the road than usual.
  7. Here's an important one. You'll need to select the appropriate vehicle for your requirement. A MoveChamp service represents a single, one-way delivery of contents from A to B. If your move is going to be large, we highly recommend selecting a larger vehicle or scheduling multiple concurrent services from the same MoveChamp partner.
  8. We need to be considerate to our MoveChamp partners. As such, the remaining filters describe the challenges of the pick-up and drop-off locations. Please be honest with your settings in order to better predict the outcome of the experience and select the most challenging aspect of either end. The cost of the services on display, as determined by our algorithms, may be affected by these filters. This is at the discretion of our partners.

Some tips when choosing the best time to move

If you intend to relocate your furniture and belongings, we've scoured the Internet and professional opinion to put together a few tips to ensure your moving experience is a pleasant one. See below for some tips:

  • Summer is always the most pleasant time to move and road conditions are generally the most favourable.
  • Avoid major holidays like Christmas. Too many people on the road and a reduced availability of MoveChamp partners can result in a problematic experience.
  • Try choose a time of day that avoids rush hour traffic. The 8 - 10 A.M. window is the usually the most desirable to our partner, but this can be affected by morning work commuters.
  • Mid-week mid-month is generally a good time to move as demand is lower.
  • Weekdays provide a better availability of MoveChamp partners and their crews.
  • If you have children, it's best to match relocation with school holidays to reduce as much disruption to their growing minds as possible.
